| Client | Omagh District Council |
| Design Team: | RPS |
| Contract Value | £0.6M |
| Contract Duration | January 2008 to May 2008 |
| Project Description | This project involved the construction of a new household waste recycling facility along with associated site works. The works included construction of a new control building, weighbridge and skip areas. Works were also undertaken to construct a new asphalt access road, car parking, site boundary and entrance gates. The site included both conventional and compactor skips, storage areas for WEEE and bulky waste, and recycling containers for oils, clothes, mobile phones and bottle banks, etc. Enabling works required the excavation of peat and diversion of existing services and storm culvert. A 1.25m reinforced concrete retaining wall was also constructed around the skip area. The new centre has been designed to incorporate eco-features including storm tank attenuation and treatment and rainwater harvesting. Geda worked closely with the Client and RPS to deliver a sustainable development on budget and on programme. |
